Position Openings

The Grants Manager is a full-time position reporting to the Director of Development.  This key development team member engages in fund development functions within the department with emphasis on providing research, writing, and leadership for all programs and projects supported by grant funding. In addition, this position supports the museum’s Accessible Discovery (AD) Program in concert with the Education Manager, ensuring all grant deliverables are met, and tracking performance for reporting.

This full-time position reports to the Individual Giving Development Manager and is an integral member of Discovery Lab’s development team. The Education Partnership and Research Coordinator provides coordination of Discovery Lab’s Accessible Discovery program through building relationships and connecting community partners with Accessible Discovery opportunities. In addition, this position is responsible for evaluating the program by collecting data and communicating impact, including developing ways to assess program impact, providing assistance on research and evaluation questions, and interpretation and reporting data.

The Director of Finance & Support will be a strategic thought-partner, and report to the executive director. The successful candidate will lead and develop an internal team to support the following areas: finance, facilities, and information technology (IT).
The Director of Finance & Support will play a critical role in partnering with the museum’s senior leadership team in strategic decision making and operations as Discovery Lab continues to enhance its quality programming and build capacity. This is a tremendous opportunity for a finance leader to maximize and strengthen the internal capacity of a well-respected, high-impact organization.

This position constructs, maintains, and repairs exhibit components, cabinetry and display work. The Exhibit Technician is responsible for contributing innovative ideas and work methods in support of Discovery Lab’s exhibit programs. The Exhibit Technician also ensures completed exhibits, on-floor and traveling, are in working order and in good repair.

This position is responsible for the planning, implementation, and operation of Discovery Lab’s exhibit production and installation. The Lead Builder is responsible for coordinating exhibit project schedules in support of Discovery Lab’s exhibit programs. The Lead Builder will work with management and the exhibit design and production team, as well as outside consultants, contractors, and vendors, to ensure exhibit operation efficiency and quality goals are met.  The Lead Builder also ensures completed exhibits, on-floor and traveling, are in working order and in good repair.
