General Field Trip Information
Every visit to the Lab is a fun and educational one! We welcome school groups, scouts, camps and other organizations to visit us for a self-guided exploration of our exhibit hall. Our exhibits are thoughtfully designed to accommodate a wide range of ages, interests, and developmental stages from birth to age 12.
Cost: The group rate starts at a minimum of 10 people. It is $10 per student and adult chaperone. Teachers can show valid school ID for free admission.
To qualify for our discounted group rate, the reservation must be made through our Education Registrar.
Group Size: If your group is over 80 people, you may be subject to schedule staggered arrival times.
Chaperone Requirements: All individual chaperones must be at least 16 years of age. Chaperones must be included on the invoice to receive the discounted group rate.
- A ratio of 1 adult per every 5 children are ages birth to 1st grade.
- A ratio of 1 adult per every 8 children are for 2nd grade and beyond.
If your group is unable to provide sufficient chaperones to accommodate the students attending, it will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
Trip Time: Discovery Lab offers the following 2 hour time slots to schedule a group visit.

Morning:
- 9:30 - 11:30 a.m.
- 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
- 10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.

Afternoon:
- 1:00 – 3:00 p.m.
- 1:30 - 3:30 p.m.
- 2:00 – 4:00 p.m.

To request a group visit reservation, please complete the Field Trip Request Form below and the Education Registrar will update you of your group’s status within 7 to 10 business days.
